Who is Tavi Gevinson?

To sum up Tavi Gevinson in a formula; it would be "Young + Unisex + Experimental."

Young - Tavi is only 13 years old, but she has already developed her own unique fashion sense and style, having an outstanding identity as a young fashion blogger in America. (Her Blog Style rookie has over 50,000 readers and the popularity is growing each day)

Unisex - Tavi has very balanced features, is a girl but looks like a boy. She can wear whatever she wants and still look good in them effortlessly, be it edgy or girly. Just because she has a 13 year old body (well, so does Brayanboy :)), she is exactly what all those skinny models want to look like, yet, Tavi doesn’t need to starve herself for having it, and I can see more and more designers will want her to be in their shows in the future ;)

Experimental- She would throw on really strange pieces of clothes together to create the special look. Although, I would say they are either hit or miss at this stage, still, she is absolutely talented. (Probably due to her wardrobe is limited to her parent’s closet or the second-hand clothes shop down the road?)

All of the above + her artistic view/ photography talent at this very young age (which cannot be counted in a formula for sure) makes us want more. I mean, people who are craving for refreshments in the fashion world would totally choose to read her stuffs more than Anna Wintour right? :D

Many of us would say, "Oh, she reminds me of my childhood; I used to be just like her when I was a kid." As we get older, we have forgotten what it is like to be creative, so it seems that what Tavi does give us a place to fantasize about being young again. People nowadays need constant stimulations and things to believe in (yes, there is hope in the world). So, a young little girl who is very clear about what she wants and is fearless to express herself will surely be something worth talking about.

Anyways, who’s stopping you or me from being fearless and creative anyways?

Lindsay Lohan 6126 leggings

I think a few days ago when Lindasay Lohan launched her leggings line in Beverley Hills, it was causing a chaos or something. A lot of people "cryticise" the design and style saying its shit and her being a designer is also shit, etc, etc. But hey, you think it wont sell just because of some negative noise buzzing around? Nah, they will sell anyway, as Miss Lilo has so many fans out there and yes, she still look very good as a crazy woman.

Her line is now available exclusively on one of my fav online stores revolve clothing.

After talking some mediocre "design", here, we have something more creative and fun to look at - Marios scarf leggings. Available here.

The world is fair, we wont let our men feel left out, you can give him a nice surprise for halloween by buying him some mantyhose. Get a pair and accessorise your man!

Stirrup/ Jeggings

In case you are wondering how to name those pants with elastic bands that loop around the arches of your foot, they are called the stirrup pants. Stirrup pants were very popular in the late 70s to the early 90s, usually being worn with broader shouldered clothes.

For girls who have a curvier figure, they might not be able to wear bright color, pattern leggings like the slim girls do ( or like La Roux here). As leggings are body hugging and they cut off right above your ankles, which makes the legs look shorter, which, also means not very flattering to wear.

Good news is, since the 80s trend is still going strong this winter towards the rocker look, stirrup leggings/jeans are also making their come back. You can now see some of them available from the high street fashion brands like top shop or Miss Selfridge.

I think they are absolutely brilliant as a little elastic band can make a huge difference, they stretches to the bottom of your foot so that its less body hugging, hiding the bumps or extra curves on the calves and also elongate the appearance of legs. Pairing with a padded shoulder jacket and some studded accessories, you are ready to rock and roll ;) (Who says curvy girls cannot look raw?)

On a side note: Leggings that are using thicker denim material like jeans are called the Jeggings, I find it hilarious as I believe this is a new term that are being used nowadays.

My personal choice would be this Fuschia/Tuquoise color though. The color combination is very in now as the 80s were back last few seasons and will linger on for a while longer. It is also inexpensive compare to the other similar style out there.Unfortunately it is now sold out and all I can do is dream about it and check out their new seasons goodies. :)

I first lay my eyes on Angela Ryans was a few years back when I saw on her photo on Myspace, I remembered Myspace was so much more personal than now that bands and artists would reply their wall post by themselves and send people little messages(that has included my online affair with El hefe which i might talk about in the future ;).

Back to the subject, since I first saw Angela Ryan, I couldn't stop checking her page out every so often as the photos she posed are just amazing. There is this one thing on her face that Dita von teese just doesn't have. Maybe its the devil/angel combination look that she has?

The 80s trend is finally blowing right in your face. I have always had a thing for the 80s as I m a new wave music fan and those make up and dressing sense are just so beyond. Also all those neon color outfits with hideous haircuts are just my fav thing in the world.

Doodah X Knoepfel-Indlekofer skateboard deck for Sale

I have read an article of these Juicy skateboard decks in i-D two months ago. I absolutely luv the Lara Stone deck and if all 4 together should be a set of great collectible items.

So I was looking online everywhere trying to find out the online shop and if it's still available ( limited Edition of 150 copies), turned out you can only buy them from Doodah shop in Switzerland.

Luckily, just happened that a girlfriend of mine was going back to her hometown in Geneva and there we go.

I have finally got my hands on it this week and sadly I couldn't get all 4 but only the Edita version. (The models are from left to right Toni Garrn, Lara Stone, Edita Vilkeviciute, Isabeli Fontana )

I am sure the boys are gonna luv it but i don't think its the most collectible

deck I must say, and that it would be Lara stone's deck.

Although I enjoy watching LA ink and the bunch of tattoo artists reality show, however I don't see myself getting one in the near future. It looks nice on somebody else, they are like a walking canvas. However, when it comes maintenance and hope that it wont be mishaped when aged older, mmm not a good idea for me.

Ahh, I have found the solution to having some cool tattoos on me which can be taken off anytime by wearing these delicious jewelleries and its not like the temporary tattoos that requires wash off after which is pain in the neck!

The yet trendiest collection from M&S - collaboration with Patricia Field - limited one-off edition on sale for 2 weeks in Hong Kong. I have to say them dresses are gorgeous, however, at 1.5K/dress + you can only wear it at most twice... mmm not quite worth it, unless you are a hardcore fan.

So I just tried them on and took a pic for record and happily put them down.

*BUT, there is a trench coat I couldn't resist as its a classic yet sexy design, will post up a pic later ;)*

Women like me, need to emphasize what we have, right? Our curvy curves selves. I don't have sexy collarbones, slim and long legs, so I do what celebrates my curves, the "hourglass figure".

Oh well thank god that I have a waist altho not small (or my mom's corset which i used to wear most of the days when I was blooming). We curvy girls need to tell people we do have a waist you know, otherwise whats the difference between a red postbox and me in my red dress?

This Winter, I'm gonna stuff my wardrobe with these fab dresses as Pinup girls clothing do XL size (sometimes 2x as well!), oh its gonna be oh so retro!

Birthday

is important to everyone, some makes it big, some like it subtle.

I like it to be quite subtle since i dont want to keep reminding myself and everyone that i am getting older and older... one step closer to saggy boobs. (so long! perky tits!) awwww...

Now, thinking that i have only 2 more years left til i m in my 30's, well, maybe I should start doing something, to celebrate my youth for the last 2 years - so one small step first, by telling everyone that, today is my 28th birthday!

Couldnt remember since when I stopped telling anyone about it, gosh it must be pretty long, I cannot remember when was the last time I had a birthday party, or what my last birthday present was... There has been a few reason why I never tell anyone about it, except a few very close friends know coz i told them when i was like 13, the age when i still wanted to get attention from others, and ofcoz bday presents, not that i dont want them now, but if i have to ask for it, it kinda makes me feel like i m a greedy little git.

On the other hand, I love celebrating my friends birthday though, i feel happy for them when they are happy, i am willing to spend time and money to make others happy if they are true friends. I think thats what true friends are for, they will make you happy without you asking, and it doesnt have to be only when its their birthday.

Thanks to my family who never forgets about it and has been with me for the past few years on my birthday coz they know no one am i with.
